President’s Message
Dear Junior League of Fort Myers Members, Prospective Members, and SWFL Community,
What an amazing year we are heading into, as we begin our 2025-2026 league year—our 60th year! From countless community projects to social gatherings, the Junior League of Fort Myers continues into our 60th year to share memories from our past and look ahead to the future. Our growing membership and fellow community partners, help make it possible to continue on this path forward in the Fort Myers area.
As we head into this historic year, I reflect on a General Membership Meeting we held in April 2025, where we had an ice-breaker question, discussing our favorite volunteer memory. Each member went around the room and shared her favorite experience, most of which occurred within our own Junior League. Whether volunteering at our historic Taste of the Town Fundraiser, a New Member Super Saturday, or serving the annual Christmas Dinner in the Pine Manor Community, all of these moments were special and impactful to the women. It made my heart light up to hear about some of these experiences and how memorable they were to each and every one of them.
My hope for our upcoming year is that new members, active members, and sustaining members have a new favorite memory, whether in our 60 hours for 60 years campaign this Spring or learning together as a membership in our service learning days. I hope that favorite memory will continue on for future leaders in JLFM as our mission is to develop the potential of women and improve communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Looking forward to the moments we make and memories we celebrate in this 60th year!
Sincerely,
Sara Wankat
