Charter Members

On February 10, 1966 the first charter of the Junior Welfare League of Fort Myers was signed with 18 active members and 3 sustaining members.  On that day, a legacy of service to Southwest Florida was born.  Then, on March 1, 1986, the members of the Junior Welfare League agreed to join the Association of Junior Leagues International, joining us to thousands of women in 4 countries with a commitment to voluntarism and leadership.  In the more than 50 years since it’s inception, the women of the Junior League have worked to improve this community we love.

Charter members participated in the signing on 2/10/66. Pictured above: Jan Brown (president), Lauranne McCraw, Patricia Graddy, Jan Hughes

We celebrate our charter members and thank them for their example of service and leadership.
