Junior League of Fort Myers Invites All Non-Profit and Community Service Organizations to a FREE Luncheon and Advocacy Training Seminar

FORT MYERS, FLORIDA.  August 21, 2006:  The Junior League of Fort Myers is hosting a free luncheon and Advocacy Leadership Seminar for non-profit and community service organizations in Southwest Florida on September 19, 2006 at 11:30am. The seminar will be held on the campus of Edison College in Fort Myers.  Jack Levine, president and founder of Advocacy Resources and 25-year veteran of advocacy training, will facilitate the event entitled:

The Crossroads of Politics and Policy: How to Advocate without Getting Run Over.”

Anyone serving a Southwest Florida non-profit or community service organization who wants to learn more about the following is encouraged to attend:

“We are so excited to partner with Jack Levine to offer this amazing training,” stated Deanne Kyle, President of the Junior League of Fort Myers.  She continued, “Inviting other organizations in the area and being able to offer this training to them free of charge is a great way to kick off our 40th year of serving Southwest Florida.  The Junior League of Fort Myers is a vocal advocate for women and children in our community.  We hope to share ways to promote the efforts of other service organizations in Southwest Florida.”  Kyle added, “This training falls in line with our mission of being a training organization committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.” 

The Junior League of Fort Myers would like to thank Edison College for their generosity in helping the JLFM provide this event to the community.

Jack Levine, founder of Advocacy Resources, served as president of Voices for Florida's Children for 25-years. His expertise is in advocating policies which promote improved quality of life across the generations. Jack works to hone messages which move concerned citizens to action at the community, statewide, and national levels. He was a founder of Voices for America's Children and was named Floridian of the Year by the Orlando Sentinel.  A graduate of Leadership Florida, he was the first recipient of Leadership Florida's Distinguished Alumnus Award.  Jack holds a Master's Degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Purdue University.
