Fort Myers, FL September 8, 2006: The Junior League of Fort Myers is excited to announce that their annual “Party in the Park” (aka Taste of the Town) will be on Sunday, November 5, 2006 11:00am till 5:00pm at Centennial Park in Downtown Fort Myers.
Taste of the Town is a family oriented food and entertainment festival that welcomes over 15,000 people to Fort Myers every year. For the last 24 years, the Junior League has partnered with local restaurants to allow the community to “taste” signature dishes such as: Irish Egg Rolls, Salmon with Tomato Basil Vinaigrette, and Orange Crunch Cake! In addition to the food and drinks available, there will be nine bands on three separate stages and plenty of entertainment and activities for children of all ages!
Taste of the Town also gives the community a chance to chip in to a good cause! The Junior League will be supporting The Local Food Kitchen again this year at Taste of the Town by collecting cans of food at all the entrance gates.
So please bring a can of food and join us for the largest single food and entertainment festival in Southwest Florida!
Tickets are now available! Stop by the League office (located at 12995 South Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers) to purchase your tickets or people can call 239-277-1197 to reserve their tickets. Tickets are also available at PUBLIX Supermarkets. Tickets in advance are $4.00 for everyone over 10 (children under 10 are FREE) and tickets at the gate are $5.00 per person.
Taste of the Town is the signature annual fund raising event of the Junior League of Fort Myers, Inc. Proceeds are given back to the community through the League’s projects.
