The Junior League of Fort Myers...Volunteers Who Do More Than Good !
The Junior League of Fort Myers is comprised of more than 100 active members and more than 200 sustaining members. Believing that a vital community is enhanced through the actions and involvement of women, the Junior League of Fort Myers supports programs that empower women to embrace their community and to achieve their personal and professional goals.
When The Junior League Gets Behind an Idea, Communities Change for The Better !
Since 1966, the Junior League of Fort Myers has made a major contribution to Southwest Florida with hands-on volunteer work in our community. We welcome new challenges in meeting the community’s needs and offer women an opportunity to join us in our efforts through a well developed and organized system of community programming. In additional to founding The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium in 1973, and The Women’s Resource Center in 1996, some of our major programs include developing programs to:
-
Feed the hungry in our five-county area
-
Mentor teenage girls in foster care
-
Support self defense for women
-
Prepare women to re-enter the workforce
-
Create listening library for cancer patients
- Work the the elderly
- Support the needs of at-risk girls
- and much more
