One of the reasons our members join the Junior League is their desire to give something back to the community. These are short term projects that meet a specific need in the community and in which our members have an opportunity to participate.
These are just a few of our projects:
- Harlem Heights Backpack Project - The League has donated time and money to assure that over 300 students in the Harlem Heights Area arrived at school on the first day with all of the tools they needed to be successful.
- The Local Soup Kitchen Food Drive - This event is held in conjunction with Taste of the Town every year. All donations that are collected at or prior to Taste are given to the Local Soup Kitchen.
- Harlem Heights Holiday Giving Tree - League members come together to purchase gifts for the mothers and children in the Harlem Heights area. This project is coordinated with the Harlem Heights Foundation which is an incredible asset to the Heights Community.
- Our Mother's Home - Junior League Members regularly work to help provide the mothers at Our Mother's Home with a productive and useful environment in which to raise their children and finish their studies.
